I'm guessing it's an attempt at Robert but spelling was not something that was standardized back then. Most of the men in my family had fairly normal names. The women, not so much. I have done a lot of family history so my list of whacky names is pretty long. I'll just list a few below. I'm also including the year which the person was born (if known). Apollonia

Barbli- 1532, 1572, 1600 (mother, daughter, granddaughter)
Niesje- 1548. Supposed to be Belgian. No clue how to pronounce it.

Permelia- 1819, 1837 Abednigo- 1808
Achilles- 1751
