I know a 5 year old Violet who isn't Vi. Not yet, anyway. Who knows what will happen when she gets older. But it could be worse. She could be Viol (pronounced like vile) instead. I think it's possible only if Violet herself puts her foot down right away and keeps insisting. "It's not VI. It's VIOLET."
