What about Eustacia for a girl one? You could call her Stacy, especially as she'd be likely to stay in one place a lot. Or Iphigenia - lots of nn possibilities there.
When I was about eleven, I got given two tortoises by a random little old lady who had to move out of her house and couldn't keep them. I looked up shell curvature etc and with stunning originality named them Tommy and Tessa. They lived happily in our garden till we also had to move, and then we liberated them on the mountainside, where they could well be to this day.
