I like it because it makes me think of colonial days.

Ethan is a handsome, Edwardian type of name to me, probably because of "Ethan Frome". I picture a guy who is friendly and good with his hands.

I hate it too. It is so ugly to me! I have a little family member with the name and it is the name of my friend's little boy and I thought hearing it all the time and loving the bearers of it would change my mind a little, at the very least make me neutral on it, but nope.
