identical twin names
From a site called Listvewrse, which features daily lists of various things. One of today's lists was "murderous identical twins" and here are the names of nine of these deadly pairs. One was a pair of brothers only 11 years old and whose names were never revealed.Tasmia and Jasmia
Joel and Michael
Gerald and Jared
Gloria and Gretchen
Stephen and Robert
Darlene and Delores (who took sharing to an extreme by marrying and divorcing the same man twice each before they finally killed him for his money)
Lydell and Laycelle (male)
Peggy and Betty
Dante and Donte (I cannot work out how they distinguished those two names. I would pronounced them both Dahn-Tay.)"It's one thing to be open-minded and quite another to be so open-minded your brains fall out."--Dear Abby
"Let other people push you around, and you deserve whatever bad things happen after that."--Lauren Bacall

I am not a twin, nor the parent of twins, but I absolutely loathe the trend of giving twins matching names. Twins are already so largely associated with one another in so many ways, and are already going to struggle with carving out their own identities, they don't need their parents acting like they are salt and pepper shakers. All of the twins I've ever known have had non-matchy names. The matchiest were probably Ashley and Arielle, which really only share a first letter. Comments on the names, not the crimes:
Tamia and Jamia - You shouldn't have to make up names so that your kids names will match.
Joel and Michael - some previous posters have said these are too similar? Why, because they both end in L?
Gerald and Jared - these are really hard for me to differentiate The L in Gerald is really soft in my accent.
Gloria and Gretchen - I love Gloria, not fond of Gretchen but they are nice together.
Stephen and Robert - Lovely pair.
Darlene and Delores - Seems too close, even though they only share the first letter. Darlene always seems really cheesy.
Lydell and Laycelle - The hell are these names? Those aren't a thing.
Peggy and Betty - Cute as nicknames, but Margaret and Elizabeth would be nicer.
Dante and Donte - Yeah, that's the same name.

People do get over-excited about naming identicals. If I'd been Tasmia or Lydell and my twin had been the other one, I hope we'd have upped and murdered whoever gave us those names in the first place.Joel and Michael are actually two very nice names, though a tad repetitive when used together.I take it that Peggy and Betty weren't actually Margaret and Elizabeth? No? Thought so.

funny you should say that ...Because Tasmia and Jasmia did kill their own mother, in a braw. Presumably not over their names.

I remember watching a show about Tasmia and Jasmia! The first syllables of Dante and Donte sound sliiightly different in my accent. Like Danny and Donny - also an excellent pair of murderous brother names I might say ;) But you're right, way too similar.I really like Gloria and Gretchen. Lydell and Laycelle are actually super neat too. But for boys? Well, ok.

They were not on the list, but I remember watching an episode of America's Most Wanted where a pair of identical twin brothers were wanted for killing an old man in a robbery. They were completely identical except one had a gold grill that they switched back and forth to confuse identification. Their names, as I remember, were Jarrell and Darrell. Pronounced to rhyme like carol or barrel.

Makes you wonder if there is a connection between hideously matching twin names and homicide, lol

The majority are matchy in some way. So I draw the conclusion that people who choose matchy names for identical twins are likely to raise sociopaths.Tongue firmly in cheek.
