BA: "danger is (not quite) my middle name"
Avery Daynjur. A girl. Spelling is definitely correct; it's copy-pasted from the facebook announcementIn lieu of asking wdyt, how about this instead: what's the worst/most memorable creatively-spelled name you've come across in real life?

I went to high school with a boy named Ryne who pronounced it like Ryan. I am absolutely stumped on how his parents thought that was going to work.

*Puke*
And I thought Danger was bad.
I guess KVIIIlyn takes the cake. Haven't seen many kre8tyv spellyngs here in Sweden, but I don't like when people spell names so that they look like they will be pronounced in another way. Like Cevin (Kevin), Chatarina (Katarina), Candra (Sandra), Theresé (Therese), Héléné (Helene), etc. Or unnecessary extra letters: Lindha, Annah, Mahlin...
The Hs in the end of Sarah and Hannah are there for a reason, right?I've heard of a Cendi (pronounced Candy), too.

Just came across one today."Martyina" - pronounced mar-tee-AN-uh. You get a lot of these when you work for a school...I also remember a post on these boards a long time ago, part of a long thread about either birth announcements or a baby contest, something or other. Anyway, I will never forget:Xaynyn Eryk DravenNow that's just awful.

Oh that's bad. :/There is/was a barista at a nearby coffee shop named Zephyr, but it was spelled way not like that. It must not've been TOO memorable because I can't remember exactly how it was spelled! I know it started with an X, but it wasn't just Xephyr... it was like... Xephyyr. I took a picture of it at the time, but that's long gone I'm sure.

Dahlia pronounced "Delilah"Seriously, the girl's name was Delilah. She got angry if you did not call her "Delilah." But her parents misspelled her name D-A-H-L-I-A, and then expected everyone to say "Delilah" because that's what they intended when they named her. Also, there is Cocaine. Pronounced "koh-KAHN-nay."

That reminds me of a student my husband had once named Titaniya but it was pronounced like Tatiana.

Well Daynjur can claim it's Serbian, like Djuradj? Maybe? I dunno that's pretty awful. One of the worst misspelling I've seen sounds like a racist joke. The name was pronounced with a R sound but spelled with an L. It made me rather uncomfortable calling him by name.

"The name was pronounced with a R sound but spelled with an L."In some languages, the L and R are often pronounced the same - I know that's the case for Luganda (dominant language in southern Uganda). So it would make sense if he were from one of those countries.

Luna EclipzAnd someone chose that for themselves because it was on the adult name change listing in the newspaper. It was a man, by the way. I wondered if maybe he wanted to go by a stage name, legally? I have more, but thats the first that came to my head.

Linkyn DouglasI was laughing already when I heard that they named their son Lincoln Douglas (the famous debates between Lincoln & Douglas) but once I saw the spelling I laughed even harder

I've heard people use the spelling Linkin after the band Linkin Park. I think it's tacky.
