Re: Names on my mind recently
Jemima / Jemimah - I adore Jemima. Not keen on 'ah' spellings for some reason.
Keziah - Dislike it and even more dislike Kizzy which it's invariably shortened to
Sepphora - I love this name but prefer 'Sephora'
Hepzibah - dislike and find it old fashioned in an unattractive way
Talitha - Very lovely
Saffron - This is really dated where I come from. 70s-80s babies (like me)
Posy / Posie - Posy is adorable for a tot. But would sound a bit silly on a high court judge I think. I find the 'ie' spelling a bit much
Yasmin - Beautiful
Lula - Love it as a shortened version of Tallula
Zadie - I like this one too, though I really loathe Sadie
Zuri - not keen
Gigi - Pronounced 'zhi zhi', I love it, but I think of it as a nickname for any of the feminised 'George' names. (One of my favourite films btw)
Matisse - It's a surname. I'd find it really contrived as a first name
Amari - Not keenElior - Love
Eliezer - I prefer Eliazar
Ephraim - I know hate isn't a nice word but...
Gideon - not a favourite (I'm sensing a fellow MGM musical fan here...)
Jed - I quite like this one
