Taiga
WDYT of this as a name? It's a word for a biome, a huge forest that basically encircles the northern part of the world. It makes up 29% of the world's forest cover! It's also called a "snow forest". Check this out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiga I think I really like it. It's powerful and also sounds kind of like Tiger (David Attenborough says it like "TY-gah"), but it's classier than Tiger. It's also got an 80's vibe to it, a bit of day-glo pep around the edges there. Ancient primeval forest with day-glo accents.
TAIGA

I remember this from school, pronounced with three syllables. Tah-EE-gah. Because it reminds me of seventh grade geography class, I don't really like it as a name, I don't think.

Interesting...apparently I live in the Taiga belt. I've only heard it used about the forests of Siberia.
It has a nice enough sound. Wish it didn't make me think of GULAG camps...

If Savannah (and I've got a Savannah step-niece who's the biome, not the US city), then why not Taiga? Much better than Forrest or Forest. The day-glo accents could be orange and brown ...

I like the fact that it relates to nature but I wouldn't be keen on it as a first name.I could just see a lifetime of having to spell it out to avoid being labeled Tiger. From personal experience this can be so frustrating. Possibly it would be ok as a middle name.

Oooh. It's really cool, both the sound and meaning. I've always thought Tundra would make a cool name as well.

Very interesting!I didn't think New Brunswick was part of that biome, so looked it up, and no, the northern part where I live is in the Acadian forest. I'd probably use Taiga as a middle name, I'm not real adventurous with names.

I don't think it has a great sound, aesthetically, when I think of it as a name, like it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Sorry.

Hi !!!Taiga?
I know the nature association but it is negative for me.It make me think of a brutal and total silence that chill your bones and your soul. I know is a forest but...it is too North for me.Byeeeeeeee

"a brutal and total silence that chill your bones and your soul"That is so hauntingly beautiful. Reminds me of wintertime in my province.
