Tatiana, Maria, Olga, Alexandra or Anastasia? (more)
These are the names of the last tsarina of Russia (wife to tsar Nicholas/Nikolai) and her four daughters. If you had to choose one for a daughter, which one and why? Comments are appreciated, you can also rank them if you like! Thanks!Tatiana, Maria, Olga, Alexandra or Anastasia?

I like them all with the exception of Olga. I'd rank them:Anastasia
Alexandra
Maria
Tatiana
OlgaIf I had to choose one, I'd go with Alexandra since I have a dd named Anna so Anastasia and Tatiana wouldn't work for me.

Anastasia is lovely so it's first on the list.
Alexandra -So I may call her Sasha.
Maria -Maria is cute, but also seems so common.
Tatiana -I like the -iana part, but the "tat" part makes me think of "tit for tat."
and then Olga. Olga doesn't work too well in English. Too close to the word "ugly."I love Russian names, but most of these are just so-so for me.

Tatiana, because I think it's beautiful and I just see no downside to it at all.Alexandra is beautiful but the downside is that it's way too popular and I don't like Alex as a nickname for a girl.I don't care for Maria and I loathe Olga, which I find so ugly.I like Anastasia, just not as much as Tatiana, and don't care for Ana or Stacy.

AlexandraI especially like the nn Alexa. This was a possibility for my cousin's name, but my aunt ended up naming her Blythe (it means joy). But anyway, Alexandra is my pick, for the nickname Alexa and because it's strong and feminine.1) Alexandra
2) Tatiana
3) Maria
4) Olga
5) Anastasia

This is a tough one for me. I really don't like any of them. I guess I'd go with Anastasia, so I could call her Ana.

AnastasiaI've always thought Anastasia was a gorgeous, cool name. Sometimes it has seemed heavy to me, but for the most part is has always hovered around my Top 10 (while not an actual member).Tatiana is also very pretty. And the real Tatiana Romanova would've been a supermodel had she lived today.Maria and Alexandra are boring to me (especially the former). I know so many Marias, and several Alexandras - and they all go by Alex. (I should note that Alexandra Romanova's real name was Alix, which is much cooler.)I don't understand how anyone can hold a bundle of joy in their arms and say, "I'm going to call you... Olga." I don't understand. What is the appeal?

Maria. It's a family name on DH's side, and I like it. The others are inconveniently long, except for Olga which makes me think of an old-fashioned goldfish bowl.

Anastasia! It has a beautiful meaning and I loved Lois Lowry's Anastasia books when I was a child.
Also, it works well here.
Tatiana doesn't work very well here, Olga has bad vibes for me and both Maria and Alexandra are too common.

I like Olga best. It's short, simple and unusual and I enjoy the sound of it.
Alexandra and Maria are nice but quite dull, and Anastasia and Tatiana are way too foofy for me.

1. Maria
2. Alexandra
3. Anastasia
4. Tatiana
5. Olga I would choose Maria, because it's versatile and classic. It's also beautiful without being too much but I love all the names except Olga.

OlgaI'd use Olga: it was my great-grandmother's name (her full name being Olga Helena) and I just like Olga's simple elegance. I like all of these names, though. I also find Czarina Alexandra's birth name Alix very nice.

TatianaThey are all lovely names, but:
Maria is too close to my own name
Olga doesn't really work in English
Alexandra is way too popular for my taste, I know a million Alex's
Anastasia is too frilly and wouldn't be pronounced the way I like.

I'd definitely pick Anastasia. The story and mystery of Anastasia was one of my early obsessions as a child. Good memories! So,Anastasia
Tatiana
Olga
Alexandra
Mariais how I would rank them, for myself.

Olga is one of my favourites. I'd absolutely give it to a daughter. I find it very feminine and elegant.I also like Alexandra and quite like Tatiana, though I find it a bit preciousLess keen on Anastasia, which I used to love and now strikes me as too frou-frou and I don't like Maria at all
