Thoughts on these names???
I am new here. I'm expecting twins, genders are unknown as we're debating if we want to find out the genders or not. But my question is, what are your thoughts on some names we're considering? Do they age well? Would my child be teased? Etc. Thank you.NAMES
---- EMRYS (EM-RHISS, BOY)
---- ATLAS (BOY)
---- JASPER "JASP/JAZZ/JAZZY"(GIRL)
---- THATCHER "THATCH/THATCHY"(BOY)
---- SHILOH "SHY" (BOY)
---- DALLAS "DALLY" (GIRL) Also, is Emrys too close to my pre-teen cousin's name Emery (GIRL)? We don't live near each other at all, and they'd only see each other once a year, if that, when we go home to visit. With that big of an age gap, I don't see the issue with it but DH is concerned it's too similar. Thank you again.

I like Emrys wouldn't worry about not using because of EmeryI also really like Thatcher though it seems unusable here in the UK unless you want people to think your a massive Tory
I like Jasper but not on a girlAtlas is ok but I think lacks flairShiloh and Dallas, and even more so Dally, are awful in my opinion

Emrys - so-so, too much fairy-tale-figure touchAtlas - the Atlas is a high mountain range in the north-west of Africa-location Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, the so-called Atlas Mountains. Well, if you really go for mountainous style ...Jasper - classic boy's name, as well as Caspar, Kaspar & Gasparo. Similar female variants are Jasha, Jasmine, Jashia, Jasleen, Jassia & Jastiney.
(something completely different, but also with er-ending: Vesper, Harper, Piper, Ever, Clover, Cher, Ginger, Greer, Jennifer, Heather, Amber, Esther, Hester, Juniper, Summer, Schuyler)Thatcher - too surnamey, you remember Margaret Thatcher, Baroness Thatcher, The Iron Lady, British stateswoman and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979-1990 ? As Prime Minister she implemented policies that have come to be known as Thatcherism.
How about instead: Spencer, Cooper, Krister, Leander, Lisander, Ryder, Miller, Kiefer, Mayer, Porter, River, Jaiger, Foster, Lester, Sawyer, Parker, Kaiser, Xander, Walker, Tanner, Tucker, Tyler ?
Shiloh, my first impression: Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, youngster of Ex-Brangelina's, if you like celeb/starbaby names, see also Suri Cruise.
Finally, here I tend to a more feminine FN.
Dallas - If it has to be a Place Name, naturally purely a matter of taste, but not rather quite my cup of tea. There are others, more appealing ones, IMHO.
(maybe something like Sienna, Verona, Catalina, Carolina, Kenya, Valencia, Venice, Avalon, Elba, Aquitaine, Odessa, Guernsey, Thessaly, Assisi, Calais, Salem, Cathay, Vienna, Persia, Sicily, Romany, Sevilla, Salloa, Vienna, Petra)

Emrys is good and no, it's not too close to Emery.
Atlas is kind of faddish but not bad, getting frequent enough now I think that it's not eccentric.
Jasper for a girl, well - I sorta see the appeal but I would not want to be named something so totally masculine ... ymmv. I like Jasper for a guy. "Jazz" for Jasmin on a girl.
Thatcher is too surnamey, tough/impersonal, to me, but usable.
Shiloh sounds like a religious reference to me, almost like Messiah, and "Shy" makes me cringe. Depends where you live, though. Some places, it might not be taken that way.
Dallas is cute, nms and evokes the city, which doesn't appeal to me. But it works as a name okay. Dally seems childish but for a little kid, whatever.

Jasperina & CyrusI know these weren't on your list but even though I love Jasper on a girl she'll be constantly mistook for a boy and don't really like any of the rest of themEmyrs for a boy is cute and I wouldn't worry too much about the similarity to your cousin's name

Thank you for the suggestion of Jasperina! I like Cyrus but DH has a dog with it growing up and all I can think of is Miley Cyrus so I wouldn't use it, but it's still a great name!Thank you for the feedback on Emrys and my cousin's name.
