I love Carlotta! I like the Phantom of the Opera character and I think Carlotta is spicy, kind of dramatic and full of fire. It's much more fun than Charlotte.

I can't really warm up to it. I also really dislike Charlotte. I much prefer Charlene which is seen as dated, but it has a much nicer sound in my opinion. Carlotta makes me think of the word 'carrot' and also of the German word 'Karotte' (which means 'carrot'). I think it is unappealing.

It's fresher than Charlotte and doesn't contain 'harlot', which is a great advantage. But I wouldn't expect to see it on anyone without a Romance-language heritage, which means that I've never met one and don't expect to, where I live.
Also, I dislike Carla and Lottie, which I suppose could be expected as nns.

I like it, though I prefer Charlotta.

I don't like Charlotte, but I do really like Carlotta.

I absolutely adore Carlotta! Love it! It's much more fun than Charlotte, which is pretty but a little bit prissy, and it's both feminine and strong-sounding.

I adore it! It's so baroque.

sounds ugly.

I don't like Carlotta any more than I like Charlotte, and that's not at all.

I'll be boring and speak for Carla instead of Carlotta. Karla is even better, IMO.

I wouldn't want it for my own name or to give it to anybody else, and anyhow it doesn't seem to have gotten much use here in the US for many generations, but it is a fun name to say and to hear. (Though it does sound a bit like car lot.)

When I was a little girl Carlotta was one of my favorite names. Now I hear the English words 'car lot' in it too much... silly. I wish I could get over it because I still like it! Same thing with Carmen.
