Re: WDYTO
Gregory / Gregor- I think Gregory and Gregor are handsome, but Greg is so drab. Just like an average guy in the 70s.
Franklin- I prefer just Frank (or Francis nn Frank). Franklin doesn't do much for me.
Gilbert- It always sounded dorky to me, but it's nice with the French pronunciation.
Jediah- Don't like the look or the sound.
Jeremias- I heard it with the -s ending so infrequently (in fact, I though think I've ever met a Jeremias) and the -ah ending so commonly, that the former ends up sounding like "Jeremiah's" to me.
Walter- I like Walter. I've known some great Walters/Walts.
Julian- I like the sound, but it always came off as a little prissy to me.
Milton- I can't get past the old man vibe this one has
Basil- Never liked it as a name. Well, maybe on some exaggeratedly British man, but not on anyone else.
Orville- Reminds me of popcorn.
Linus- Love Linus so very much. I would use it for a son if names that end in s didn't sound odd with my last name.
Marlin- Reminds me of the fish.
Maxwell- It's nice sounding, if a little pretentious
Leopold- Never cared for Leopold. I love Leo, Leon, and Leonardo, but not Leopold (or Leonard).
Emmett- Nice enough, but not a favorite.
Maximilian- Love. Much better than Maxwell, IMO.
Thaddeus- Love as well.
