It is the name of a family friend (well she spells it Rochele). It's alright but I like similar sounding names like Rachel and Roxanne better.

All I can think of is that musical "Rochelle, Rochelle" from Seinfeld...

Rochelle is one of my best friends' names, so I love it because it makes me think of her. I probably wouldn't use it, but I do like it for her.

There's a town in New York near where I went to college called New Rochelle. My husband and I went on our first date to a movie theater in New Rochelle. I think of the town when I hear the name Rochelle.I think in the US that Rochelle has a "tacky" vibe as a personal name. It makes me think of a rough-looking woman. It actually makes me think of a prostitute.
