The reason being that it's a feminine form of a name that would have honored both her grandfathers, Michael and Michael. Plus, I really liked it. Trendy sound, but it has *some* history, and I agree that the sound/vibe is friendly.I would have used Michaela, nothing weird. Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

The kinda sad thing is, Michaela probably seems like the weird one to most people! Trendy spellings are much more common than the actual spelling, many people probably don't even know they're the same thing or how to even pronounce Michaela! D:

True, but I wouldn't have cared what people thought. Michaela just looks nicer than the alternate spellings.
