Amber is always an overweight girl with brown hair who is really into niche hobbies. That's what I envision. I want to like the name because it does sound really warm but I can't rid myself of the Ambers I have known.

I would pair it with an equally warm name but not of the same initial because I don't like alliterative names as they sound cartoony to me. Maybe Amber Harriet, Amber Helena, Amber Medina, Amber Mallory, Amber Rosamund, Amber Melisandre, Amber Romana?

I love it. I love the, well, amber image it conjures up. But its former popularity ruined it. As far as me personally using it, it ruined it, I mean. Many people seem to think it has a "bimbo" vibe, which it wouldn't have if it had never been popular. I can see the "bimbo" image (unfortunately), but I disagree with anyone who thinks it's "trashy".

I love Amber, but I think it's too dated for me to use. A good combo is Amber Margaret.

It's beautiful. I wouldn't mind having it or giving it.
