Right now it's mostly reminding me of samsara (the endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth in Hinduism).

It's okay. I like it more than Samantha and less than Samira.

Agreed! I was first introduced to that name while watching that film. I associate Samara with a creepy girl who crawls out of a well and out of a TV screen VERY strongly. The name just has that "creepy, dark-horror genre" all over it. I would be very hesitant to meet a "Samara" *laughs* the movie freaking terrified me as a chikd. Hmmm, probably still does

I love Samara. I have also seen Samaire if you are interested in that. The latter has a definite Irish vibe, imo while Samara has a more Arabic vibe.

Also, I saw a name that maybe you would like...Taj.

I like it. Way more interesting than Samantha. Happier than Mara. More straightforward pronunciation than Tamara. Yep, I like it!
