I love the name Elliot on a boy! It has such a great sound and classic nature, while also being quite rare (in my area, anyway). I would relish using it, as either a first or middle name.

Elliot reminds me of the character from Scrubs and it makes me think of Elliott Bay in Seattle. It sometimes makes me think of the character from E.T.I like Elliot enough to use for a son if it wasn't my sister's only favorite name for a daughter. With her mental issues that got especially bad the last two years I'm feeling uncertain whether she will ever have a child but unless she wanted me to use it for a son I am avoiding it. I go back and forth between which spelling I prefer - Elliott or Elliot - right now I prefer Elliott. The spelling Elliot seems slightly more feminine than Elliott.

I .... don't really have any thoughts on it. It's just "there." Not bad, not good, just average, inoffensive, but nothing unique or interesting. All of this is just my opinion, though, so if you like it -- don't let my opinion deter you.

It's the name of the 6 year old that I love more than most things in life. My bunny! :p
He's adorable, and while I liked Elliot when I named him, I didn't love it as I do now.I think it's suitable for a baby, child, teen and adult. It's also well known without being too common so people wouldn't have too much trouble with it.

All I can think of is E.T.

I like it but it feels trendy, so it brings to mind small, sticky children, when the image I really would like it to conjure is a smart, well-dressed, possibly British man with a very dry sense of humour.

I think it's...fine. Just, fine. I probably wouldn't use it myself, but it's a nice name. Hate it for a girl.

It's pleasant. It's okay. It's all right. I started to say "You don't hear it much" and I haven't, but before saying that I decided to check out its popularity statistics, and saw that it's rising.

I'm not a fan, despite knowing some wonderful adults and children with the name. The sounds of the syllables aren't appealing to me, it doesn't really have any good nicknames, it's increasingly becoming a female name (though I can't imagine why), and it reminds me a bit of the word "toilet".One of my close friends with the name says people are always drawing it out like "Ellll-eeeeeee-uuuuuuuut" because of E.T., though that may be a generational thing that will go away. Anyway, he hates his name.

I've never met one or heard of one where I live, and I'll be happy if that continues.

I like it a lot but its getting really trendy and used a lot, usually misspelled, by girls.

I like it. It has a nice sound. It seems very *now* and like it would be used by parents who also loved Henry and Oliver. Yuppie-ish, I guess. I think it'll definitely end up in the top 100. It might end up getting misspelled a lot, with no one sure how many Ls and how many Ts are in it. I think Elias has a bit more character.

I know an Elliot and Oliver sibset in their late twenties. They do seem to go well together as names.

Elliott and Oliver were my favourite boys’ names when I was 12-13. Girls were Olivia and Eloise and as I planned on having two children, a boy/girl sib-set would have been either Elliott and Olivia or Eloise and Oliver, never the similar names together. But yeah, I like Elliot. Not quite enough to use it any more but I like it!

Hi Danno!!!It is difficult that I like a el-beginning name. Infact I dislike Elliot.
It is the same for Elia, Elijah, Elias.
So maybe is generally the reference that I dislike I guess..
