WDYT of these names? Atlas and Miles for boys.
WDYT of the combos Atlas Jacob and Miles Robert? Also what are your favorite travel related names for boys? Similar to Atlas and Miles?

The weird thing about this is that, although I’m not a fan of either name, I really like the names Atlas and Miles (prefer Myles) together - they just fit. Your combos are nice.

I really dislike them both. They seem “trendy” to me, even though I know Miles has been used for a long time. Just not a fan.

I love Miles. Atlas not as much, but I don't think it's terrible. It's kind of cool.I can't say that I have any favorite travel related names for boys.

I like them both. Atlas is more of a GP to me though. I think the association of maps is too strong for me to actually use in real life.

I like Atlas, I think I prefer it on girls, but it seems very unisex to me. Atlas Jacob is really nice.I really dislike Miles, and wouldn't class it as a travel name at all. In fact I'd never even associate it with the unit of measure, it seems a bit odd to me, the same as naming someone inch or yard or metre.

Atlas, unisex? ...Just curious ... what makes Atlas seem unisex to you? I mean, the only Atlas most people can call to mind is the male mythological figure who had to hold the world up on his shoulders, or possibly Charles Atlas, the famous body-builder that sold mail-order bodybuilding courses.

I usually HATE traditionally male names on girls, but female Atlas kind of appeals to me. It's weirdly cool.

I like the names. But I feel like I’m seeing Atlas everywhere at the moment.

I wonder if it's because people don't use the book as often now that the internet is available instead. So maybe it's losing an association that kept people from using it before.

could be ...And if so, if we follow that logic, we should start expecting to see little kids named Thesaurus and Dictionary and Encyclopedia. lolI know I've heard of at least one dog named Atlas and think there's probably a ton more.
When we took our cats to the vet the other night, we saw a bunch of the pets belonging to the staff; most of them bring their pets to work with them and they hang out in the exam rooms. One of the doctors has two Bernese Mountain dogs, a puppy and a young adult. They are ginormous, gallopity, shaggy and very friendly. They looked like they ought to be named Atlas and Hercules or something. But they were Fenway (complete with a Red Sox bandanna) and Potter.

I love Miles. It's attractive and kind of preppy, it's got history and meaning, and it would age well. Atlas is not my style at all. Perhaps save that one for a pet? It would make a really cute pet name. It's a little hard to guess your type because, apart from both being short, the names are very different from each other in style. So I'll just list some names I like for you.Abel

WalterETA- I didn't see the "travel-related" part of your question, sorry. Reading comprehension fail for me! I guess from my list that Roman kind of sort of makes that category.

I don't like Atlas at all, it's like a name for a huge, dimwitted and unintentionally destructive dog, or some steroid-infused bodybuilder.
Miles is very nice, and Miles Robert is great. But not as great as Robert Miles.I don't think of Miles as a travel-related name; if I did it would feel gimmicky and a bit of a stretch. If we're assuming it's a travel theme, Atlas and Miles sound like a pair of costumed mascots an airline might use to improve public relations.
