I'd definitely advise against it in real life, but for a character I think it'd be a really interesting and memorable choice.

I really don’t like Destiny as a name for a boy or a girl. It just doesn’t seem like a name to me.

I know it's just a word name, and hypothetically word names should all be unisex since a word can't belong to a specific gender but Destiny has just been used so much with girls that any boy with the name would definitely dislike it greatly.
It currently ranks at #203 in the US for girls.
