Nickname Ginny & Variants of Lucille
I want to honor my mom whose named Virginia, but I´m big into name meanings and I don´t like ¨maiden or virgin¨ as a meaning for my daughter. My grandma´s named Lucille and I also love her name a lot, but my cousin has already used a version (Lucía) for her daughter. Any ideas for other names that could have the nickname Ginny (what my mom was called when she was little) or variations of Lucille? We also love nature names in case you´ve got a great one handy! This baby´s older siblings are named Charlie and Marigold. Thanks!

Ginerva (I prefer this alternative spelling/pronunciation to Ginevra)
Geneva
Georgina
ReginaLucille is different enough from Lucia for cousins. It isn't as if they are siblings, but if it seems like an issue, you could always use it as a middle name. Lucinda is a nice alternative. Names with nature meanings:
Aria - "air"
Marin - "of the sea"
Silva- "forest"
Stella- "star"
Avani - "earth"
Mira- "sea, ocean"
Holly- "holy tree"
Laurel- "victory"

My favorite would be Ginger, it's pretty and uncommon and it goes well with Charlie and Marigold. Ginger Rogers used it as a nickname for Virginia so I think it denitinely can honor Virginia. Other possibilities are Ginevra, Regina, Georgina, Imogene and Eugenia, maybe Angelina and Gianna but those are a stretch.I don't think Lucia and Lucille are too close for second cousins.Combo ideas:Ginevra Lucille "Ginny"
Lucy Ginevra
Lucille / Lucy Imogene
Imogene Lucy "Ginny"
Ginger Lucille "Ginny"
Ginger Lucinda "Ginny"
Regina Lucy "Ginny"

My mom's name is Virginia "Ginny"! Is she married to a Tom? lolAnyway, I can get behind you not wanting to use a name that means "virgin", but what's wrong with the "maiden" meaning? I think it's nice.

Lucilla? Lucinda? Louise? Eloise?I suggest Eloise Virginia. For the natural touch, think of Virginia creeper.
