I haven't really come across too many boys with H names - at least not to the point that it's overwhelming and more common than other letters. I do have a cat name Hudson, a cousin named Hunter, and a nephew named Harrison -- BUT we have like 7 M names and 10 A names in my family so 3 is still a minority.

And I actually like surnames on boys. Most of the traditional names used for men are surnames as well - Robert(s), Michael(s), Samuel(s), Lawrence, Alexander, Andrew(s)...so it's nothing new.
