Re: Is Elsa usable because of Frozen?

I like Elsa and I think I would use it with or without the film being a concern. If it's a name on my radar and I love it, no amount of people's assumptions or comments would make me want to use it less.I'm sure she would have people say, "Like the princess?" or make "Let it go," comments occasionally, but it wouldn't be a hassle on her everyday life. She'd either laugh it off, embrace it, or roll her eyes, and move on.I think it also has the benefit of being a clarifier. If someone was unsure of her name or wasn't sure they'd heard it right or whatever, she could also say, "Like the princess," and clear up any confusion so I guess that's a double use of that association. Let's just say that as someone who enjoyed the film and more recently enjoyed the Broadway show, I recognize that the songs and characters got promoted to death and that we were all over it before Disney ever wanted to give it up, but I don't think that detracts from the fact that Elsa is one of the best examples of a strong young woman who is capable and self-reliant, yet far from perfect. She's a good image for a young girl to associate with. I would think that gives people a better reason to use it, not keep from using it.
