Do you prefer Hattie, Anna or Phoebe?
Ideas were Hattie Matilda, Anna Elizabeth, and Pheoebe Diana, which do you like best? I'm on the fence about Matilda, other middle name ideas for Hattie that are also 3 syllables?

I like Anna best but I think Anna Elizabeth is the worst of those combos. It's not a bad combo, and I'd like it if you just asked about Anna Elizabeth without showing it next to the others, but both Anna and Elizabeth are so common that the combo looks meaningless. The other names all have more personality. Hattie Matilda is a good combo. Not quite my style but those names fit each other very well. Personally I'd prefer Harriet Matilda nn Hattie. Phoebe Diana is good, it's pretty and mythological. Phoebe looks younger and fresher, while Diana looks older and stronger, so the names don't fit exactly for me but they complement each other.
also:
Phoebe Elizabeth
Anna Matilda
Anna Harriet (if you like Harriet)

Phoebe Diana is beautiful. sounds very wise and kind. would definitely suggest that as first pick.Hattie is cute to me, but doesnt feel so substantial as a full name- it's great if Harriet is the full name, though. and Anna by itself is refreshing, but is kimd of meh when paired with Elizabeth. as for middle names for Hattie, if you wanna go with that- how about:Hattie Cynthia
Hattie Sophia
Hattie Lucretia
Hattie Mirabelle
Hattie Timea

Hattie Sofia is a really darling idea, thank you

Anna Elizabeth is boring as all get out, but I prefer it hands down over the others. Hattie is an ugly old-lady name, with a strong hillbilly or plantation vibe to it, and Phoebe sounds like a dingbat. I do love Diana.

Phoebe is not a dingbat name though I must argue, it was one of my childhood friends names and she was the smartest in our grade schools class, the other Phoebe I knew wasn't unintelligent either, I feel you can express your opinion without being so tart. It's ok to dislike something but it isn't necessary to be toxic

oh, thank you for correcting me ...I've only been on this board 12 years, so I sometimes don't know what's acceptable and what isn't. If it wasn't for bright young things like you, who knows where we'd be.

Well there's no need to be sarcastic, I just thought you were being a bit harsh, there's no need for that. Just because you've been using something for longer doesn't give you the right to be unkind

Is your name Violet_Rose?

It's Leanne?

My that's a strong opinion :/

Phoebe Diana is the most interesting, but my favourite is Anna Elizabeth. I really like the sound of Hattie Matilda, bright and playful, but down to earth and sensible too.

Anna Elizabeth! I see three themes here (sorry if someone said this already!): Vintage, classic, and mythology. Maybe think about other names you like for future siblings and see what category they fit into. I honestly like all of them but I really like Anna Elizabeth- you could also call her Annabeth which is cute :)

I like Phoebe best of the first names, but not with Diana - too much moon
I like Anna, but not with Elizabeth (unless it's a family name) - too bland for me
I don't like Hattie as a full name, but I do like Harriet Matilda. Harriet Diana is good too.Anna Phoebe? Phoebe Elizabeth?

Wb Phoebe Madeline/Maddison? Any thoughts?

Phoebe Diana is way too mythological.Hattie is unkind. Harriet would be lovely, and Hattie could work as a nn until she outgrew it, but Hattie alone is not a life sentence I'd welcome. Matilda is a favourite of mine, though I wouldn't use it for a human because of my wonderful rescue dog, whose name it was.My friend has an awesome Anna Elizabeth daughter. Although I far prefer Anne to Anna, that would certainly be my choice.Mns for Harriet: Harriet Daisy, Harriet Alice, Harriet Dinah, Harriet Lucy, Harriet Jean, Harriet Celia, Harriet Isobel.

Definitely Anna. It’s a gorgeous, simple, and practical classic, which is what I usually go for in names. Hattie is a nickname for Henrietta and similar names, and it would seem insubstantial on its own. Henrietta nicknamed Hattie is awesome, though. Phoebe — really not a fan. I like the look of it but the sound “feebee” sounds like a high-pitched whine to me. I’m really not a fan of Matilda, just because I don’t like the sound. Mat would be a cute nickname for it.

I don't love any of those names honestly, but I find Phoebe Diana the most refreshing. This might sound weird but it reminds me of the moon! I suppose based on the meanings.ETA: Haha, I see noel said the same thing below.

I like Anna Elizabeth, but I must acknowledge that I have conservative taste in names! Second favourite is Pheoebe Diana.

Phoebe, hands down. I've never seen the appeal of Hattie, and Anna Elizabeth is fine but bland.Phoebe and Diana are both associated with a moon goddess, which bugs me a bit (seems repetitive?), but I like both names individually.

Which pairing would you suggest with Anna to make it not bland?

I don't know. Rosalind? Celestine? Kalliope? Anything you like that's less common as a middle name than Elizabeth.

Interesting, I was not aware that Phoebe was also associated with the moon, the more you know I suppose
