Re: Older Male Names For New Babies
These are already on the top 1000:Walter - #265, rising (I'm actually surprised it's this high)
Eugene - #813, relatively steady
Howard - #999, pretty steady; it keeps bouncing off and on
Roy - #537, steady
Warren - #360, rising
Clyde - #707, rising
Alvin - #603, steady
Alfred - #861, kind of steady, kind of dropping?
Dennis - #544, dropping (I see it a lot as a middle name though)
These are off chart & steady (within 5 births) from 2016 to 2017:
Clarence
Herbert
Cecil
Dwight (ok, it's a 6 birth difference)These are off chart and falling from 2016 to 2017:
Doyle (it went from 10 babies to 18; no one uses this)--If I had to pick one, Walter, or Cecil because it's a family name on DH's side.
This was easier than the girls because most of these are not particularly nice.
Here are some old man names that would have made a more intriguing selection (imo):
Arnold
Earl
Ernest
Floyd
Frank
Gilbert
Harold
Harvey (making a pretty nice comeback actually)
Homer
Howard
Maurice
Norman
Stanley
Wallace(feel free to pick one; I'd pick Floyd if I were doing a first name)
Rosalie Evander Larkin
Starlight Nocturne Grey

Of these, I would pick Wallace. It reminds me of William Wallace, so I gives off a heroic rebel with a cause.
