Alice Roberta?
We have settled on Alice for a first name. We still have not settled on a middle name, but have considered Dorothea and Susanna strongly, which are both family names.
Here is the thing, it looks like Alice will be born on her great grandmas birthday. DH wants to use her name, Roberta. What you think of it? Is it classic or more of a yesteryear fad? What is your gut response?
I admit to not loving it, but intellectually I know it fits my naming style.
This is all happening...soon...so I don’t have a lot of time to ponder. 11th hour feedback, anyone?

I usually don't like Alice...it's like there's a mincing (Edwardian?) quality to it that aggravates me. But I feel like Roberta balances it nicely, since Roberta, in contrast, seems forceful (maybe partly because it reminds me of 'robust') in a way that few feminine names do...
Alice Dorothea would also be nice. Or I'd pick something like Alice Rowena.
My gut response is that Alice pairs well with names containing 'ro'. I'd say Roberta is more of a classic than it was a fad.
