Foster
Yeah, it's a surname, but what would you think if someone used Foster as a first name for a son? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

It makes me think of the cartoon Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I used to watch it when I was younger.

I would immediately think of the beer, lol. I don't hate it, necessarily, but... yeah all I can think of is beer.

I want to like it because it almost seems like a virtue name, along the same lines as Prosper, but...it seems unfortunate. I think it'd work best for an only child.

Putting aside my absolute hatred of surnames as first names for a moment, I think he’d get teased with “foster kid” a lot. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a foster child.

It's not only a surname! I'd have instant thoughts about a foster-son ... but if it was a family name it'd be fine. Like Fraser in DH's family. But just taking a ln off the shelf and sticking it on to a child when there is so much choice has always seemed odd to me.

Makes me think of the word fester.

I kinda like it. I know a girl named Foster, too. I mean, I'm not going to name a son or daughter Foster, but it's kind of interesting and unexpected (unlike Taylor or Parker or something)
