Hi !!!I'm watching for the first time an episode of this odd reality Tv series about a big family that live into the wild. Here there are its members:Father: "Billy" - Billy Bryan
Mother: "Ami" - Amora Larene
Son: "Matt" - Matthew Jeremiah
Son: "Bam Bam" - Joshua Bam Bam
Son: "Bear" - Solomon Isaiah Freedom
Son: "Gabe" - Gabriel Starbuck
Son: "Noah" - Noah Darkcloud
Daughter: "Birdy" - Amora Jean Snowbird
Daughter: "Rainy" - Merry Christmas Kathryn RaindropWDYT?I find very odd this mix of Biblical and nature-theme/Native American-like names.Do you personally know any family as big as it?Personal Name Lists https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/125456

That looks absolutely insane. But Raindrop is kind of a ridiculous name that I kind of like. I mean, I'd use it a cat or something, but still.Otherwise, nothing is really my kind of thing. I do love Rainy on its own.
I have a friend named Snow and I think that's kind of cool, but Snowbird is more than I care for.My cousins (who I unfortunately don't live near and am not close to) have somewhere between 15-17 children. And they're not a part of any religious movement or anything. The parents just wanted a bit family and that's what they've got. I've not sure about biological and adopted and things like that. I just love getting their Christmas card every year. It's especially fun now that some of the children are older and have their own families now, but they still just cram everyone into the photo on front and all of their names onto the bottom.
I'll have to make a post about it if we get one from them this year (so far no which is odd??).And my grandmother was one of nine and my grandfather was one of eleven.
My grandmother's siblings (that I know) all had pretty horrible names:
Raymond
Marvin
Shirley (I think?? It may have been Cheryl.)
Louise
Flossie Mae
Willie Ruth
Brenda (This one is my grandma.)
Jimmie Sue My friend Lisa is one of seventeen. (She's the baby and she lets everyone know it, but sadly I don't know any of her sibling's names even though she did write them all down for me like five or six years ago. Middle names and all!)Otherwise, I went to school with a really eccentric family that traveled in an old limo and had eight children all of which shared the first names Sir or Princess. It was... different. Most of them are grown now and have either gotten their names changed or at least tried to distance themselves from their parents/roots.

Coming from Brazil, I know families that are even bigger than that one. Some of the names and nicknames sound almost over-the-top stereotypical for people coming from the country.I'll have to admit, Merry Christmas made me laugh when I read it.

This show is a guilty pleasure for me. The names kind of exemplify why :).I don't think I'd seen Noah's middle name before. Pretty over the top! But fitting for his personality, perhaps. My favorite combo is Gabriel Starbuck, probably because Starbuck is my favorite of the unconventional middle names. Bear is my favorite person on the show, and Solomon and Isaiah are my 2 favorite Biblical names from the bunch. Too bad he never goes by Solomon, although...he's clearly a Bear.I like both of the girls' combos a lot too. Merry Christmas Kathryn Raindrop always cracks me up. I didn't realize Birdy was named after her mother, that's nice to see.

I think too much cold and isolation can addle people's brains.

OT: But...The cold and isolation fact can be true- except it’s a big farce.
The family lives and films in Washington state- Eastern WA to be exact. My husband and friends have seen the property and “stars” in a small Eastern wa town... and talked with the disgruntled neighbors of these “ Alaskan Bush People”.

then ...I guess they're already brain-scrambled. lol
It's like "Duck Dynasty." If you look at pictures of them from before they got their TV show, they don't look like a bunch of bearded hillbillies. They look like country-club Republicans in their khakis and golf clubs.

Haha, how do they make Eastern Washington look like SE Alaska?I know a few family members have been prosecuted for claiming their Alaska residents' benefit despite living outside of AK for more than half the year, so not surprised to hear they're frequently down in the Lower 48. (I once spotted them at the Seattle airport, lol.) But would be surprised if they actually shot the reality show down in Eastern Washington, which is a high mountain desert.

The terrain actually looks very similar. And eastern Washington gets a massive amount of snow, especially in the mountains. Hunting pictures my husband has taken look exactly the same as pictures in his hunting magazines in Alaska.
THere’s no doubt about it. My husband himself saw the “stars” of the show, with pickup trucks full of animal (goat rabbit etc) feed driving up gensame mountain he was hunting-he looked them up and found pictures... not to mention, the dad of the show owns part of the mountain which is shown on property maps of the area.
