Eleni - Very cool. Has an exotic sound to it, I like this much more than Helen. Lavinia - Dunno. Sounds a bit pretentious to me. Hermione - I will forever associate this with the Harry Potter character, but I still love it. Beautiful name. Polly - This will always remind me of a parrot, but it's not that bad. I prefer Molly. Imogen - Sounds a little weird to me. You could use Corinna for the same meaning, but a different sound.

I've never heard Eleni spoken...is it kind of like Ella + nee? It's not bad but not something I would use.Lavinia sounds delicate, strong, and purple floral to me. I like it for other people, but again, nms.I like Hermione; it's so energetic and different sounding...I like a lot of names with a similar ending, though: Bryony, Chione, Alkyone, Niobe, Antigone...I think Polly is a pleasantly quirky NN (for Apolline or Leopoldine maybe), but I don't like it much on its own...it sounds too much like a prefix.Imogen is nms but alright. I'm not used to hearing it, though, so it sounds like Emma Jean or Emma Jen or "imagine" said fast, to me.

Eleni - no doubt OK in its own place and language. I would use Helen without hesitation, and maybe Eleni has the same effect on modern Greeks.
Lavinia - quite amusing, the way such a very ancient name has what looks like a very modern La- at the beginning. But it comes across as rather pretentious, at home in a fee-paying school rather than a bus queue.
Hermione - not an attractive sound; Ione or Iona would be better, but still not good enough.
Polly - a family name going back to the 19th century! I love it, but I dislike Molly; not sure why.
Imogen - both elegant and energetic. I'd use it. Doesn't need a nn, but Jenny or Jinny would work if they had to.
