I like both Essie and Bert as nicknames.

I've heard Essie as a nn for Esther, but never as a stand-alone. And I cannot think that it's a good idea. Most Esther people dont' feel the need of it anyway, and she has no alternative but the overused Anna ... clearly the parents like using nns as fns, but Bert works better than Essie for sure.

I like Essie Anna. It's a little short but it's sweet and cute without being too sugary.
I prefer Essie as a nickname though. Esperanza, Esmeralda, Esther, Estefania, Janessa, Alessa, Agnessa, etc...

I think Bert is silly, it's a Sesame Street character and kind of sounds... rubbery?
I like Everett as a middle name. I'd have preferred Ben Everett.

I dont like it, Anna is ok. Essie and Bert sound like nn

I love Essie. So sweet.
