does anyone know the origins and meanings of Issey (as in Issey Miyake)

Ooooh-wheeee! My favorite perfume. I once stalked down a woman in the Athens subway to ask her what perfume she was wearing so I could buy one for Mme Che . Mme Che was pleased and rewarded me with the guy's version of Issey Miyake, which beats Eau Sauvage (my aftershave for over 15 years)with a stick :p
Since I have a personal stake in the matter lemme give it a (long) shot: Issey may be a westernized version of the Japanese word "issei" which means "a Japanese immigrant, especially one to the United States". The word itself is derived from "ichi" (one, first)and "sei" (generation).

You're spot on (as usual) with the meaning of "Issey", Pav, according to this website:

So, what *does* Issey Myake smell like, Pav? I'm trying to imagine this and it's difficult, as I'm not exactly a perfume kinda gal. Do they make this perfume by squeezing viscous secretions out of Issey's glands, much in the manner of poppin' a zit? Or do they procure Issey-secretions from other portions of Issey's anatomy? From the picture of Issey depicted on this website, it looks like they might have to chase a hysterically giggling Issey and rassle him to the ground first, in order to "milk" him.
