"Nala" is such a simple, 4-letter name that it can probably mean a number of different things in different cultures.

Why don't you ask your "text friend" (what exactly is a "text friend", anyway?) what it means? I mean, we're all strangers to you here on this message board, yet you didn't hesitate to ask *us* about the name. Why wouldn't you go directly to the source (your friend) to find out what you want to know?

Then, when you've found out, come back here and tell us. You may wind up making a significant contribution to this message board. :)
