I have a question regarding first names. It concerns the name Ela. It's pronounced eelaa and means Cardonom Tree.Has anybody heard of it? Does anybody know its origin? It isn't in this web site's database.

It was just a female name I heard in passing. I loved the sound and went to a few websites and found one with the definition. Oddly enough, the nationality wasn't mentioned. So, I came to this board. Thank you for such a speedy reply with the information you found!
