opinions on Sahara?
We're coming up with baby names, and are thinking of Sahara for a girl. I have heard that it is of Hebrew, or Arabic origin, meaning either moon, wilderness, or dawn. Perhaps it is a derivative of "Sahar" (which I've also seen listed as Arabic or Hebrew, with various meanings). Another site indicated that it means "Inca gold". Any opinions here? Thanks,
Cheryl

Quote...but lately i've been hearing that name an awful lot.

In the 1990s, it was a name given to one of the action dolls from the short-lived series called the iGirls, by Lanard. That may have given her name a boost. For a nickname, you could call her Sandy...!(I once knew a Marsha with the nickname Swampy... ;))

If you don't mind people identifying her with a Desert. And mistakenly calling her Sarah on a continuous basis.:)
