I am trying to find out the meaning of my first name. It's Nyasha. I've been told that it is North African, possibly even arabic. However, I met someone from Zimbabwe who said that they have heard of it as well. As to gender, it's female.

If anyone has any information on this name I would appreciate some help.

"Nyasha" is the name of the good daughter in the children's picture book titled "Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters" (an African folktale).

The name means "mercy".
