Corinthos
I was wondering if anybody could tell me whether the surname Corinthos is Italian or hispanic in origin? This is a name of a character on television so I don't know if it's a real or made up name. Thanks in advance if anybody can help me out.By the way, is this a web site that is supposed to only deal with first name or are the discussion of last name permitted?

CaraI think that our friendly neighborhood Greek (Pavlos, aka Oh, Greek One) might find this particular surname in his backyard, but I may be jumping to conclusions here.Phyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

Our friendly neighborhood Greek has been away on a mini-vacation in the snowy mountains of Arcadia, but I think he should be back by tomorrow. :)-- Nanaea

I'm back and half frozen :)
Well Corinth (Korinthos) is a city (formerly city-state) in central Greece known for its plush quasi-gaudy aesthetics. The name itself is derived from "Kore" meaning "daughter,maiden,and/or courtesan" (female couterpart of "Kouros")
