"Hidalgo" is a masculine Spanish name commonly used in Mexico. Can anyone tell me it's origin and meaning?

i read that the name hidalgo means "noble one" i hope that helps and its origin is spanish

Off the top of my head, I believe "hidalgo" means "nobleman". Can't help with the origin, tho.
