Hi, Does anyone know where the name Malo comes from and it's meaning. Malo is my father's middle name. He came fron Ireland, but as yet I have not been able to find anonther with the same name. It is not even on any of the name data base's I have searched..

Malo
There is St. Malo, who is also know as Machutus or Maclou. He was a 6th/7th cent. bishop possibly of Welsh origin. Malo seems to be the French form of his name. It is said to be composed of the two Celtic elements "mach" (pledge) and "lou" (bright).
