Well not exactly, i think it depends what part of holland you're from Cin, but when you say 'lijn' in flat Dutch (plat nederlands) it's different from the English Line..Line is classier, softer than our lijn, so maybe i can suggest you use l-aye-n as an answer to how ij is pronounced..Just a suggestion though, i don't expect people (as in English people) to know how the Dutch language exactly sounds, but it is our job to bring them as close as they can get..lol

I would say kah-tuh-leen or kah-tel-een.

incorrectour "ij" is pronounced as 'aye' so Katelijn will be: Kah-tu-laye-n, laye as in lie perhaps..don't know if that makes it easier though..:)
