I've heard on tv of a person called Vertie ("vair-tee"). I'm not sure of the spelling. I just saw the end of the show and I don't know the sex or the origin of that person. Any idea of the meaning?Claire

With some accents (not mine, but maybe an American one ...) it could sound the same as Verity and be a respelling of that?

Hmm..
Verdi is "green" in Itlaian.
Verti is a Spanish name. I think it's "truthful", but don't hold me to that. I do know "ver" means truth in spanish though so I wouldn't doubt this.Perhaps from one of them?-Seda*
