Britney at the moment is one of the "cool" names.... a popular one at the moment. And in a few years, there will be heaps of 5 year old britney's at school... if you don't mind that there are heaps of britney's at the moment, then go for it.
though, to me, the name britney is always attached to the word 'spears'.

Amen. I understand the name derives from an Old French word meaning "breast augmentation".

I used to love the name Brittany, but then that stupid Britney Spears (In my opinion) came along and I started disliking the name.

And while we're at it:
Eleven spellings for a name is too many. You want to have a name with only ONE possible spelling. English sucks for this.
What I find weird is how an easy name like Nodoka, even, is misspelled so often. I mean, 3 kana.... But I've seen "Nadoka", "Nodaka"... It is THREE KANA!!!! NO-DO-KA!!!!
