Sine is the Gaelic/Irish form of Jeanne, the French form of Johanna (Yohanna), the female form of the Hebrew name Yochanan, meaning "G-d is gracious". :)Claire

It is pronounced (at least for me and I am the 9-10 generation) cena or sena. I understand about mispronouncing and stuff but I was bullied and tormented as a kid so I cant stand for it to be pronounced as "sign" even tho just finding out it is gailec and pronounced as sign. � grrr. Lol
