Well, the mother-in-law is still in the picture. My friend is weak! Anyway, MIL has now suggested the name Rosemary Kelly (yes, Kelly again!). I am of no help to my friend because I like both Abigail and Rosemary as first names.

So, again, which do you all like: Abigail Grace or Rosemary Kelly?

I personally would forget Kelly, if MIL wants kelly in the name to bad. Its her kid. But to please all I would suggest:
Abigail Rose
or just go with Abigail Grace.

When I think of both those names I think of a distinguised sweet child, and abigal can be abrivated or kept Abigail meaning the child can choose!

Nicknames could be: Abby- Ab- Gail- Gaily.

When I hear Rosemary Kelly they just don't go! Maybe change Kelly a bit?

When I hear Rosemary Kelly: I think of a girl that is oldfashioned, perhapes an outcast. Kelly just doesn't fit.

You Abigail Rosemary is kinda pretty. But I like the first 2 suggestions better, Why doesnt the husband get involved?

If the husband got involved, he would name the baby after a car. My friend has enough to deal with, with the MIL! LOL.

I would go with Abigail Grace, or Abigail Rose. Abigail is a classy name, and easily shortened to Abbie. I'm not sure about Rosemary, even though it is my name! I never used to like it, I think because it's old fashioned. The abbreviation Rosie is cute, and lots of people call me that but it seems a bit childish to me.

Abigail is becoming a really common name now, so thus, I prefer Rosemary Kelly, it's pretty and you can call her Rosie for short!

If you are looking to please everyone, it will never happen. However, why not use a derivative of Rosemary? Abigail is a beautiful name. One I would use if my husband didn't have a complete aversion to it. My suggestion? Abigail Rose.

As far as I am concerned if someone walks on you then there is no one to blame but yourself. In your freind's case she can tell her MIL to butt out or deal with it. If she is weak then it is her decision to be so and if her MIL bullies her then she can blame no one but herself and neither should you. By the way, I think Abigail Grace is a beautiful name.
