The heroine of the book "We the Living" by Ayn Rand is named Kira. Don't know if that was exactly helpful, but thought I'd throw that out there. Very good story, worth a read.
There's also a 'Kira' barbie doll much to my chagrin. ;-)

The bassist from the band Black Flag is named Kira. There is also an actress named Kyra Sedgwick(not exactly the same as Kira though).
