Valeri or Valerij (pronounced with a long "i" at the end) is the Slavic version of Valerius. The female is Valeria / Valerija. And yes, it is essentially the same as Valerie :o).

My badWell whaddaya know?!?! Still curious about the name Natasza, I met a girl with that name, but she didn't know much about it either! :)

Yepp, it is a variant of Natasha.Pronounced almost the same way... in Polish the "sh" sound isn't spelled "sh", the "sh" sound is spelled by "si" or an "s" with an accent (a line) over it... the "sz" sound is close to the "sh" sound but a bit harsher, there is no such sound in the English langauge.I'm trying not to be too confussing.
