I am a little lost...
My name is De Shee' (duh-shay). I would really like to know the meaning of my name. I have heard that "de" is French for of, but that's about all I've got. HELP PLEASE!

Miss Claire is mostly right...But the "Shee" part of your name could be a variant spelling of Shea."De" is a prefix common to many black names (DeMarlo, the name of a friend, comes to mind), probably for the same reason that "La" is. As far as I know, it started in Louisiana ages ago, where French was predominantly spoken.Array

Yes, "de" can mean of or from. Like Marie de Paris (Marie from Paris), or the "le Roi de France" (the King of France). But your name is just made up in my opinion...~~ Claire ~~
