I am looking for the meaning behind the name DeLorean. I know it is then name of the car, named after the guy who designed it. But what does DeLorean mean. Any help would be great.

John Zachary DeLorean's origins are Romanian. His father Zaharia Delorean, married with Kathryn (also from Romania, but of hungarian ethnicity) comes from the Șugag village (near Sebeș city), Alba County. There are today living relatives from the part of Zaharia's brother.

My guess would be: De Lorraine (an area in France). Or maybe "laurel" is involved in some way …
