Re: Scottish first name meaning "boy of the isle"
I'm not sure...The first Scottish name that comes to mind is my screenname: Isla, the masculine form of which is Islay, a place name (both are pronounced like EYE-lah). But it doesn't mean "boy of the isle," it's just the name of an island in Scotland. There's also Lyle, an English name meaning "from the island."

I've always heard it as "EYE-lah" and that both Isla and Islay are prn. this way. But I'm not 100% sure.
