JoLaine...not jolene ...its prounouced Jo lane ..
my mother used this as my middle name she took it from a close friend of her that had named her daughter ...
most people tell me that it's probaly a play off of to names mixed like joe and elaine ...but i remeber one summer before lol internet i was in a older library ..and they had a very old old name book ..1800's or so and the name and meaning was in there. I for the likes of me cannot remeber the name of the book or the meaning ...if annyone was to have older name books if they could find it it would be nice..

my name is Marjolijn (I'm Dutch, it's pron: Mar-yo-line), the french variant of my name is Marjolaine, I think JoLaine could be a short form of Marjolaine. In Dutch, the short form of my name is Jolijn. Marjolijn / Marjolaine can mean the herb Marjoram (or Marjolein in Dutch, same pron as Marjolijn), But it can also be another form of Maria / Miriam.
