Behind the Anagram Names for TwinsJust want to add that the genius behind the Anagram Names for Twins list is none other than PriaposLovs, who posted to you below. He hides behind that handle, but he's really Paul Pan. I have the special distinction of being his Muse and Editor. :)-- Nanaea

Although this etymology is questionable, a "Tylo" in classical Greek is a callus.

That word origin may show up in the Prehistoric reptile genus(?) Tylosaurus, which includes mosasaurs and other scaryazhell 40-foot aquatic ancestors of monitor lizards that you wouldn't want to have surface while you paddled in your VW innertube off Paros. The meaning of Tylo- in that context is in one of my dinosaur reference volumes, which are (alas) still in one of the 55 identical unopened cartons marked "Books".

The only Tylo I'm familiar with is the character from 1939 Shirley Temple film, *The Blue Bird*. Tylo was the the children's loyal dog, who was changed into a human for most of the movie. I dunno what the name means, though. Oh yeah, they had a cat, too, if I remember correctly, named "Tylette".-- Nanaea

"Tylo" is actually her (Deborah Morehart's) married name, from her actor husband Michael Tylo. He's from someplace in Michigan, so I can't speculate on his ethnicity. Sorry.
