You life-long quest for an origin of your name has finally reached an end: Manya is actually a Russian pet name for Mary :)

Unless of course it is a Native American name that just happens to be identical to the Russian pet form of Mary... Such a thing is not unheard of, but I consider it most likely that you are right, Pavlos.
